If you have not heard of Tom and Jerry , you have unfortunately missed out on a wonderful childhood experience. You should be thanking me because I am about to fill you in on this magnificent show. Tom and Jerry is a series comprised of many animated short episodes ranging from five to fifteen minutes. The show takes the well-known concept of the cat being the natural predator of the mouse and manages to entirely subvert it. Even though Tom, the cat, tends to initiate conflicts with Jerry, the mouse, Jerry invariably emerges victorious at the end of each episode. The entire plot of the show is centered around this incongruity. It is a vital component that gives the show its comedic value. What's more is that these characters have been given the intelligence and resources of humans, especially Jerry. Jerry tends to respond to Tom's aggression with pure brutality. Deadpool is a superhero movie that is unlike any other for a number of reasons. First, Deadpool is not exactly a morally correct person, unlike almost any other hero imaginable. Most superheroes act in the name of justice, putting themselves in danger for the benefit of the public. Deadpool tends to act out of a sense of self-preservation, or his own personal benefit. Looking at it that way, he can hardly be deemed a hero at all. This situation produces a central incongruity, which is that even though he is considered to be a hero by many people, his actions and villains reflect that of a villain. He even exclaims that he is simply a "bad guy who gets paid to beat up worse guys." Another remarkable trait about this film is that despite serving a purpose as an action movie, it is a comedy movie before that. The Good Place is a somewhat unique show in the sense that it successfully manages to incorporate comedic elements into a show that is fixated on a life after death, which can be a rather touchy, controversial subject to discuss. Of course, Heaven and Hell operate under pseudonyms "The Good Place" and "The Bad Place" in order to take religion mostly out of the picture. The show's ability to induce laughter about a natural phenomenon as frightful as death is in clear support of the relief theory, but the whole premise of the show introduces a central incongruity. This piece that the show revolves around is that a handful of benevolent people who just died are sent to "The Bad Place," a place befitting those devoid of morals who lack qualms about committing the most egregious of acts. Elf is one of the greatest movies to watch around Christmas time. Of course not only does it get you in the Christmas spirit, but it is simply hilarious. The whole movie revolves around how the protagonist, Buddy, is a human raised among elves at the North Pole. This means that he is too large to fit in with the elves physically, and among humans, he has not adapted to social norms and has yet to understand how normal people work. This unique situation creates a man with the mind of a small child, producing a plethora of absolutely hilarious incongruities, such as his lack of understanding of the workplace, him failing to recognize basic social cues, and even things as ridiculous as eating chewed gum off of the underside of a rail. Now, between all the various forms of video entertainment available on the Internet, Vine certainly was never my first pick. When Vine was around, I usually tended to use YouTube or Twitch to view the content I wished to see. That being said, it is still evident that with the way Vine was created, it was frequently the birthplace of comedic gems. Vine was very accessible and easy to use, as opposed to most other sites where adequate content creation requires decent computer specs, recording equipment, impeccable editing skills, and up to several hours to upload and render just a single video. The Big Lebowski is a film that I came into expecting a lot out of. Luckily, I was not let down, as the movie proved to be absolutely hysterical. To sum it up, I got to watch a man whose life that was already in shambles completely crumble under the most outrageous of circumstances for two hours. If anyone is a testament to Murphy's Law, "what can go wrong will go wrong," it is most definitely Jeffery "The Dude" Lebowski. Almost everything that happened was due to other people being difficult and the Dude usually had no control over it. What makes the situation particularly amusing is that the Dude is known for his very casual, laid back personality, and the relaxation that he desires is exactly the opposite of what he gets. Also, all three theories are supported very well by the film.
